Service Description

After-School Reading & Writing Club Tuesdays 4–6 PM Open to both homeschoolers and public school students, this supportive, engaging class is designed to help children of all skill levels develop a genuine love for reading and writing—all in a relaxed, pressure-free environment. No student will ever be required to read aloud or made to feel self-conscious about their abilities. Our focus is on building confidence, nurturing creativity, and encouraging each child to discover the joy of stories, words, and self-expression. Whether your child is a hesitant reader or a budding young author, they’ll feel welcomed, encouraged, and inspired in our warm, inclusive setting. Step into the pages of adventure-filled stories and bring them to life—outside! Each session begins with a grammar and writing warm-up, followed by a read-aloud from adapted classics using the Stepping Stones series. We’ll explore beloved tales like Black Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, Swiss Family Robinson, and more—final book selections may vary, and students will help decide which stories we read. After the read-aloud, students will jump into creative writing, crafting original stories inspired by characters, settings, and themes from the book. Then we head outdoors for hands-on activities connected to the day’s reading—like building shelters, following animal tracks, using natural navigation, or acting out favorite scenes. This class blends reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and imagination-driven outdoor play. Rooted in Charlotte Mason, traditional, and Montessori-inspired methods, it’s a warm, welcoming space for learners of all levels. Ages: 6–11 Class Length: 2 hours, once per week Tuition: $50/month (billed monthly) Registration Fee: $25 (non-refundable, due at signup) Enrollment: Registration required; monthly commitment What to Bring: Water bottle and snack Let reading and writing become a wild adventure—indoors and out!.
