Nature School for Preschoolers

Service Description
Our Nature School offers young children a joyful introduction to the outdoors through a balanced mix of unstructured play, sensory exploration, and creative learning. Each session includes: 1 hour of unstructured outdoor play and sensory activities: Children explore plants and insects, run through open spaces, play games, and climb over logs and low tree branches. Themed sensory bins are offered each session, making this a time of movement, imagination, and discovery in the fresh air. 1 hour of storytime and dramatic play: Engaging stories, songs, and pretend play bring characters and ideas to life, encouraging self-expression and building early literacy skills. 1 hour of guided exploration: Guided hikes through the piney woods spark curiosity and wonder, connecting children to their environment and local wildlife. Kids can relax and enjoy storytime in the hammocks, play in our teepee, climb trees, and join in group games. We weave in earth science topics—like weather, seasons, rocks, and soil—as well as animal studies, using hands-on activities and real-world observation to help children learn through play. This class nurtures a deep appreciation for the natural world, encourages curiosity, and builds meaningful connections through shared outdoor experiences.
